SMHO Receives Arts & Culture Grant
SMHO was recently awarded $10,000 from the Littleton Arts & Culture Grant. The funds were used to commission original hand-painted artwork at our new affordable property, Overlook at Powers Park. Local artist Jason T. Graves hand-painted large murals inside and outside the building, including a 30’x30′ outdoor mural (shown above) that faces Powers Park and W. Powers Avenue. The original artwork adds color, creativity, and beauty that goes beyond our property. It encourages a more vibrant environment all around it, unique to Littleton, for the whole community and visitors to enjoy alike.
The Littleton Arts & Culture Grant is a product of the 2022 Littleton voter-approved 5% lodgers tax on hotels, motels, and short-term rentals. The revenue from this tax is used to support arts, culture, and tourism in an effort to promote the positive role they play in the Littleton community. Learn more about this grant here.
A special Thank You to the City of Littleton, Littleton Museum, and the Arts & Culture Grant Committee for including SMHO as a 2023-2024 Awardee. Congratulations to the other Awardees!
