About Us
Since 1971, the Littleton Housing Authority dba South Metro Housing Options (SMHO) has served the affordable housing needs of Littleton and Arapahoe County, Colorado, making us the second oldest housing authority in the state. We own and operate seven (7) affordable properties in Littleton, which are located close to shops, services, and public transportation. The agency is governed by a 7-member Board of Commissioners and is designated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. SMHO is a proud partner with the City of Littleton, serving as a leader in the area of affordable housing and assisting them with community building activities, and affordable housing developments and initiatives.
Our Mission
South Metro Housing Options seeks to strengthen the community by providing creative opportunities for diverse housing alternatives. SMHO’s affordable, quality housing is responsive to resident and community needs, and upholds the ethical stewardship of public funds and assets. Our housing and programs provide a stepping-stone toward self-sufficiency and promotes dignity, diversity, and individuality. We believe access to affordable housing is essential to creating a diverse, productive, and vibrant community of choice.
Resident Services
Our comprehensive Resident Services (RS) program offers support and guidance to SMHO residents through the coordination of community partnerships, resources, programs, and activities, as well as case management for personalized support in the areas of physical, emotional, and financial well-being. Our RS services go beyond traditional housing services in an effort to help residents navigate some of life’s challenges with viable options and solutions.
