Amity Plaza Receives a New Parking Lot
The parking lot and entrance road at Amity Plaza were recently repaved and re-marked with bright yellow paint, making it safer and more visible for all.
The massive lot measures out to 60,750 sq. ft., requiring 700,000 lbs. of asphalt to repave, which breaks down to about 350 tons of asphalt.
The top layers of the parking lot were stripped out and carried away so there is room for the new asphalt to be poured. Each dump truck carried away 14,000 lbs. of old asphalt. Through this process, we learned the parking spaces were not all the same width. This gave us an opportunity to correct the issue, making every parking spot the exact same size of 8′ 2″ wide, allowing us to add four (4) additional parking spots to the lot.
This capital improvement not only looks nice, but it also presents a safer environment for all by reducing hazards and increasing visibility of the area. A special “thank you” to all who worked on this project, including our own Maintenance Team who made it all happen.
