Welcome to South Metro Housing Options (SMHO), a provider of affordable housing solutions in Littleton and Arapahoe County, Colorado. Since 1971, we have been dedicated to strengthening our community by creating diverse housing opportunities responsive to the needs of our residents and the broader community.
SMHO is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Littleton City Council. We own and manage over 500 affordable housing units across six communities, and also administer over 600 Housing Choice Vouchers. We aim to ensure access to quality, affordable housing is available to help create a vibrant, productive, and diverse community of choice.

SMHO is proud to partner with Nourish Meals On Wheels; enriching the lives of older (60+) and homebound adults in South Metro Denver by providing nutritious meals and services that promote dignity, well-being, and independence. Along with their grocery program, they also deliver dog and cat food, kitty litter, and treats to clients who need help feeding their pets. South Metro Housing Options (SMHO) has received federal tax credits from the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program to develop a new property named Montview Flats. This 50-unit building will provide homes for families whose incomes range from 30% to 70% of the area median income (AMI). Montview Flats will be situated in downtown Littleton, near Arapahoe Community College, the regional trail system, light rail access to downtown Denver, and various job and shopping options. The SMHO Board of Commissioners holds meetings on the second Thursday of each month at 5 p.m. at our main office in downtown Littleton. The next meetings are scheduled for March 13, April 10, and May 8, 2025.
